The United Arab Emirates has dispatched its 18th aid aircraft carrying 40 tonnes of essential medical supplies to Lebanon as part of the “UAE Stands with Lebanon” campaign. This ongoing initiative, launched in early October, aims to provide critical food, medical, and shelter supplies to the Lebanese population, who continue to face severe hardships due to ongoing conflict. In close collaboration with international organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), UAE humanitarian organizations are playing a pivotal role in delivering life-saving aid to Lebanon’s vulnerable communities. Germany to sign LNG contracts in UAE, says German Economy Minister

In an effort to find new partners to replace its reliance on Russian energy imports, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is anticipated to sign LNG contracts when he travels to the United Arab Emirates on Sunday.

"The gas selection is gradually expanding. The administration is always in contact with numerous nations, "Robert Habeck, the minister of the economy, mentioned his own March trip to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

Reuters was informed by sources in May that the LNG negotiations between Germany and Qatar were complicated by disagreements on crucial terms, such as the length of any deal.

As part of its efforts to diversify away from Russian gas, German is purchasing LNG terminals.

Habeck was speaking in the northern German town of Lubmin, where officials are hoping that a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) leased by the government will become operational at the latest by the end of 2023.

Habeck said of the construction drive, "We must demonstrate that in times like these, we can plan, authorise and build faster than is generally the case in Germany." He added that LNG projects in Wilhelmshaven and Brunsbuettel were instances of this.

The two FSRU vessels there have "a good, realistic chance" of being able to feed into the German gas network before the turn of the year, he said.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Germany have active diplomatic ties. This is demonstrated by the strategic alliance that was forged in April 2004. In order to further solidify their relationships, the two nations signed a joint declaration of purpose during Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's visit to Berlin in June 2019.

Germany's top trading partner in the region is the United Arab Emirates. The UAE is Germany's second-largest market in the Near East, Middle East, and North Africa, right after Saudi Arabia. The bilateral trade was worth 7.51 billion euros in 2020. Automobiles, machinery, electrical items, chemicals, and aircraft are Germany's top exports to the United Arab Emirates. Germany mainly imports petrochemicals and aluminium
